With Tassie’s borders constantly closing due to the ongoing covid outbreaks, our travel plans to the Apple Isle remain in a state of flux. We can book our tickets and can be ready to go, but these days nothing feels certain until we’re actually on the plane. So for those of you whose travel plans have been scrapped last minute, then we’ve got a backup plan for you! We’ve found some online walking tours of Tasmania that make you feel like you’re walking the streets yourself.

American Tom Hall films himself walking around tourist sites and towns in Tasmania, with his easy banter making it feel like we’re walking the streets alongside him. Tom takes us to the top of Hobart’s Mount Wellington, on a walk around Cradle Mountain, on a tour of Launceston’s Cataract Gorge, on a stroll through the historic town of Richmond and a wander through the historic town of Franklin. These online walking tours of Tasmania really are the next best thing to travelling to these destinations ourselves!

So if you’re keen to travel Tasmania from the comfort of your own couch, then be sure to watch some of Tom’s videos below.
