Mark your diaries and cancel your plans for the 4 August 2021, as the award-winning comedy Rosehaven returns for its fifth and final season. This charming show follows the ever-funny McCallum Real Estate team as they navigate the highs and lows of country life in the (fictional) town of Rosehaven, Tasmania.
The charming and chaotic life of this real estate team will be on display yet again in this season. We’ll watch as Barbara (Kris McQuade) wants Daniel (Luke McGregor) and Emma (Celia Pacquola) to take on more responsibility in the McCallum Real Estate business. They’ll continue to deal with uncooperative landlords and sullen tenants, while trhing to run their business. Outside of work Daniel regrets breaking up with the love of his life, while Emma gets a Rosehaven-based nemesis.
Luke McGregor (Utopia and Luke Warm Sex) and Celia Pacquola (Utopia and The Beautiful Lie) are the comedy geniuses behind the delightfully charming Rosehaven. They explained to MediaWeek that “in 2015 we knew we wanted to make a TV show, but we had no idea what to write about, and we were extremely worried no one would want to watch whatever we came up with. Now we’re getting to make a fifth season, we will allow our very self-deprecating comedian brains to feel a tiny amount of pride that we’ve made a good thing. But having written that, we already feel arrogant, so we take it back and apologise for getting a big head there for a second.”
For those stuck in lockdown around Australia, it’s a welcome relief to be able to see the sights of Tasmania through the lens of this show. Rosehaven continues to showcase Tassie’s natural beauty, with external shots mainly showing towns in the Huon Valley, Geeveston, Longley and Richmond.
So get ready to settle in on your couch, as this iconic Tasmanian show will be available on the ABC from 4 August 2021.
